A blend of whiskies. In Scotch and Irish whisky, it means malt or pot still whisky blended with grain whisky; most Scotch sold is blended. In the US, blended whiskey is at least 20% straight whiskey, with the rest other whiskey or neutral spirit.
The Rules
- Scotch: at least one malt and one grain whisky
- Irish: two or more styles blended
- US: at least 20% straight whiskey
On The Label
- Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal and Jameson are blends
- A blend of bourbon and rye with no special name is Style Blended in WOW
